We exist as material, continually becoming bodies in an ever-changing material world.
My work interrogates the interface between bodies and the spaces and sites we inhabit, opens spaces of encounter with other beings and ways of being (human and more-than-human), and celebrates the richness of being-in-common. I continue to be fascinated by the experience of living in and as body in this moment, and I work to explore the deeper layers of that experience.
I make solo durational and site-specific performance, exploring the workings of time and memory in the body, how they are stored and manifested in the shifting materiality of bodyness.
I make one-to-one interactions that invite the participant into a shared space of being, where we live a moment in common through the exchange of silence, touch, breath or conversation.
I lead interactive walks exploring the living beings of the city, focusing on unruly plant growth and the contained street trees.
Since I began making work in 1998, I have performed, presented work and taught throughout the UK and internationally. I also regularly work as performer/co-deviser with other artists and choreographers.
